Frequently Asked Questions

  • Relationship-based dog training is all about understanding and working with your dog’s natural instincts, emotions, and communication style. Instead of relying on fear, force, or purely treat-based techniques, I build mutual trust and respect. I focus on clear communication, meeting your dog’s needs, and encouraging cooperation rather then obedience out of fear or habit.

  • The goal of relationship-based training is to create a cooperative partnership where the dog wants to work with you because it feels safe, understood, and valued.

Traditional training relies on correction-based methods that are not considered best for the dog’s emotional well-being and does not promote long-term trust in the relationship.

  • As a professional dog trainer, I work with dogs and their owners to correct common (and not-so-common) behavioral issues, including: aggressive displays, constant barking, destructive behaviors, anxiety, fear, leash pulling, poor manners, jumping, guarding, and potty training.

Through proven techniques and compassionate training, we’ll work together to build trust, improve obedience, and restore peace in your home.

  • Yes! I love working with puppies and strongly believe early training is one of the best investments you can make for your dog’s future. My puppy sessions are designed to help your young dog build confidence, develop good manners, and learn essential skills like house training, basic obedience, and proper socialization. I also provide guidance on common challenges such a as nipping, chewing, and create training.

  • I offer personalized in-home dog training sessions. These take place in your home environment, allowing me to address specific behaviors and routines where they happen. Once we create your personalized training plan, we can meet at an agreed upon location such as Lowe’s, pet stores, a park, walking the neighborhood, etc. for a session.

  • The most important factor that affects how long it takes to start seeing results from professional training is consistency! The more you train your dog and follow through with training plans, the faster you’re going to see results.

  • Absolutely. Every dog and situation is unique, and sometimes it takes a different approach or training style to see real progress. I’ll take the time to understand what was tried before, what worked (and what didn’t) and then create a customized plan tailored specifically to you and your dogs needs.
